ARC

The purpose of the Assessment and Reporting Committee (ARC) is to use state frameworks and credible sources to build capacity, promote professional dialogue, and problem solve grade level questions and concerns in a safe and fair environment.

The ARC is comprised of representatives of each grade level from our 18 schools across VESD.

Report Card Updates

The ARC grade level selected representatives met to solidify the 21st Century Skills and  Rubric on the K-6 report cards, per our agreed-upon process.  ARC teacher and parent input led to the following recommendations from this team, which will drive our work for 2021-22:

1.  Give each grade level the opportunity to add, delete, and order the report card comment bank.

2.  Add to the DRAFT Teacher Report Card Resource Guide.  DRAFT HERE

3.  Provide strategies for parents to support their child on the Parent Report Card Support Guide.  SAMPLE TEMPLATE HERE

All said initiatives will be facilitated through the Report Card Revision Process developed by the ARC teachers.

All grade level report card revisions are now completed and submitted to Synergy for construction.  Select your grade level below and click the Report Card DRAFT FINAL link to view.

Focus Standards Progress

Our negotiated ratification packet, which passed vote (1/14/20) and Board approved (1/15/20) contains language involving the ARC.  Article XIII: Compensation states “ARC will collaboratively create Common District Focus Standards on ELA and Math for each grade level to be implemented in the 2021-2022 school year”. Below are artifacts of grade level collaboration to develop the Focus Standards. Please refer to the VESD Curriculum page to access the Focus Standards in their entirety.
